Global Micro Solutions, a Microsoft solutions partner founded in 1990, is expanding its cybersecurity and compliance portfolio with the launch of an agent driven governance, risk and compliance platform built on Microsoft Azure. The release marks a shift in how the company approaches audit preparation and compliance management by embedding evidence collection and validation directly into operational workflows rather than treating audits as periodic exercises.
The platform is designed around four stages: assess, configure, prove and maintain compliance. At the center of the system is an AI based audit agent that connects directly to Microsoft environments to retrieve evidence from customer tenants and evaluate configurations against frameworks including ISO/IEC 27001. According to the company, the system is designed to cite the source behind each response and avoid generating answers when supporting evidence is unavailable.
The platform operates across Microsoft 365, Azure, server infrastructure and network environments. Global Micro Solutions says the system automates evidence gathering across 93 ISO/IEC 27001 controls, deploys 78 Microsoft zero trust capabilities spanning seven architecture pillars and maintains 14 information security management registers covering areas such as incidents, suppliers, assets and risk management. When non compliant configurations are detected, remediation tickets are generated automatically and closed after two consecutive verification checks.
The launch builds on more than three decades of Microsoft focused infrastructure work under founder and chief security architect JJ Milner. During the 1990s, Milner led some of South Africa’s earliest hosted Exchange deployments and developed desktop as a service platforms that helped position Global Micro among the five largest hosted Microsoft providers at that time. The company says it has since completed more than 50,000 Microsoft workload migrations and currently manages Microsoft environments for more than 1,200 customers across EMEA and the Americas.
“Cloud in Africa was not handed to us 30 years ago. We built it. The same is true of agentic AI for GRC today. The category does not yet exist in the form we are building it, and the market is only beginning to understand what it requires. Speed matters in the AI era, but so do control, auditability and trust. Our job is to make sure organisations move faster without losing grip on the systems and processes that matter most.”

The company positions the platform as a response to changing audit requirements tied to frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, POPIA, GDPR and NIS2, where organisations are increasingly expected to provide continuous visibility into operational controls rather than periodic snapshots. Global Micro says policies within the platform are linked directly to Microsoft tenant configurations and that compliance scoring is updated daily. According to the company, customers using the platform reach a Microsoft Secure Score above 75 and achieve audit readiness within eight weeks rather than following multi month preparation cycles.
Workflow orchestration and integrations beyond Microsoft environments are delivered through Flowgear, Global Micro Solutions’ integration platform as a service subsidiary. Flowgear is built on .NET, runs on Microsoft Azure infrastructure and holds SOC 2 Type 2 certification. The company says the platform currently supports 140 partners worldwide and a network of 1,000 certified developers.
The product launch follows two recognitions from the Microsoft IAMCP South Africa Partner Awards 2026. Global Micro Solutions received Community Partner of the Year recognition for contributions to partner mentorship and channel development, while Flowgear received ISV Partner of the Year recognition tied to Azure Marketplace activity, co sell initiatives, customer outcomes, security posture and what IAMCP described as the first AI Design Win in the Central Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
“The awards are meaningful recognition for the work our team, customers and partners have put into building platforms that solve real business problems at scale. It reflects the relentless effort we have put into product innovation, and the practical value of helping organisations create a stronger foundation for AI-led transformation in South Africa.”

Milner said future development plans include expanding agent based capabilities into additional compliance frameworks, including those focused on AI governance and security requirements, with regulated industries in South Africa identified as early deployment targets.
