BCS Consultancy establishes South African office to expand data center operations

BCS Consultancy, a data center advisory firm, announced the opening of a new office in South Africa. The geographic expansion aims to strengthen the company’s operating footprint across the African digital infrastructure market. Market estimates indicate the South African data center sector will grow from USD $2.55 billion in 2025 to USD $5.28 billion by 2031.

The new office provides the firm with a local delivery base to support both regional and international clients executing large-scale digital infrastructure projects. The expansion correlates with increased activity in the African data center market, where operators are managing cloud adoption and enterprise digital transformations. Data sovereignty requirements, artificial intelligence workloads, and regional connectivity investments also drive infrastructure demands. South Africa maintains hyperscale and colocation operations, alongside expanding cloud regions and a professional services ecosystem.

Oskar Lampe, Regional Director at BCS Consultancy, will direct the expansion. Lampe, who originates from South Africa, leads the establishment of the regional office and the execution of the firm's broader strategy on the continent. The firm plans to utilize the office to create job opportunities for local communities and develop infrastructure specialists.

”South Africa is a natural next step for BCS as we continue expanding our international footprint,” said Oskar Lampe, Regional Director, BCS Consultancy. “The region is entering a major acceleration phase for digital infrastructure and presents a significant long-term opportunity for both operators and investors. By establishing a local presence, we can combine our global experience with on-the-ground delivery capability to better support clients navigating increasingly complex projects across South Africa and the wider African market.”

“Africa represents one of the most important emerging growth regions for digital infrastructure," said Chris Coward, COO at BCS Consultancy. "Establishing a presence in South Africa allows us to support our clients more effectively as they expand into new markets, while bringing international delivery experience and local expertise together to support increasingly complex infrastructure projects."
