Upscale AI, a company building networking infrastructure for AI workloads, has closed a $190 million Series A-1 funding round at a $2 billion valuation. The round brings the company's total capital raised to approximately $500 million.
Premji Invest, a venture capital firm, led the round. New investors joining this round include NVIDIA, the chipmaker known for its AI processors, Salesforce Ventures, the venture capital arm of enterprise software company Salesforce, Seligman Ventures and Temasek, the Singapore state investment company.
Existing investors Maverick Silicon, Mayfield, Prosperity7 Ventures, StepStone Group and Tiger Global also participated in the round.
According to the company, Upscale AI focuses on networking infrastructure designed to support data transfer and processing for AI training and inference at scale. The company said it plans to use the funding to continue product development in high-performance networking for AI workloads, expand its market reach, and support hiring and partnerships.
