Sage updates X3 platform with artificial intelligence and managed cloud deployment

Sage, a developer of accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology for small and mid-sized businesses, released updates to its Sage X3 application. The software modifications introduce artificial intelligence and operational data analysis intended to assist manufacturers and distributors in risk identification and supply chain planning. The release builds on the artificial intelligence roadmap announced at the Sage Future event.

The application now includes Sage Copilot, an artificial intelligence tool built into existing workflows to surface operational data across sales, finance, inventory and operations. This feature supports business approvals while keeping human operators in control of the software outputs. The vendor also introduced a cloud-hosted version of the product branded as Sage X3 SaaS. This deployment model shifts infrastructure management, security architecture and application updates to the vendor to reduce administrative workloads. The hosted version is accessible in the United Kingdom and the United States, with a global rollout planned.

“Manufacturers and distributors are operating in increasingly complex environments where decisions need to be made quickly” said Rob Sinfield, SVP, ERP, Sage. “While businesses are rapidly embracing AI, many still need greater confidence in the insights it provides. By embedding AI and operational intelligence directly into Sage X3, we're helping customers identify risks earlier, improve planning and make better decisions while maintaining the visibility and control they need to run their operations.”

“I'm really excited about what Sage X3 is doing to embed AI into complex processes, making it simpler so that organizations can scale faster,” said Seth Ellertson, CRO at Net At Work “What stands out about Sage's approach is the focus on embedding intelligence directly into the workflows organizations already rely on every day. By combining trusted AI with deep operational capabilities, Sage is helping manufacturers and distributors make more informed decisions and adapt more quickly to change.”

Beyond the copilot feature, the release incorporates regional compliance and production tracking tools. Sage activated an artificial intelligence e-invoicing feature powered by the Sage Platform to address compliance requirements in France, where the feature is now active. For production management, the company integrated software from Lynq, an ecosystem partner, to improve resource utilization and operational visibility. The Lynq integration is live in the United States, Canada, South Africa, Australia and the United Kingdom. To support these additions, the vendor implemented global platform upgrades focused on system extensibility, user experience and core security.
