Logility, a supply chain management software company owned by enterprise software firm Aptean, has released Orchestration Center, an AI layer that connects supply chain systems and executes decisions across planning, production, supplier management and transportation. The product is available immediately to manage Logility's own supply chain software suite and can also integrate and manage third-party systems.
The problem the product addresses is the lag between detecting a supply chain issue and acting on it. Most organisations have already invested in visibility tools that surface data and alerts, but by the time those signals are analysed, decisions are agreed and actions are carried out, the window to respond has often closed and the cost has been absorbed. Orchestration Center aggregates data from enterprise systems and large language models in real time and uses AI agents to act on it, rather than producing an alert and waiting for a person to respond.
The system operates as a control layer above an organisation's existing software. It connects to current demand, supply, manufacturing and transportation systems and serves as a shared data and decisioning layer across them, which allows its agents to act across multiple functions at once instead of one after another. As conditions change, the system adjusts demand and supply decisions and coordinates the response across connected systems.
A central element of the product is the limits placed on what the AI can do without human approval. Leadership defines the policies and guardrails the agents operate within. Routine decisions can execute automatically, while exceptions are escalated to a human reviewer with the relevant context and a recommended action attached. Every decision the system makes is logged and can be audited.
