iRely adds terminal management module to its petroleum ERP platform

iRely, a company that makes ERP and commodity trading and risk management (CTRM) software for the petroleum distribution, agriculture and commodity industries, has launched a Terminal Management module for pipeline terminal operators and fuel distributors. The module runs inside iRely's i21 ERP platform and is aimed at consolidating the separate systems that terminal operators often use for logistics, pricing, tax and risk management.

The product targets workflows that are commonly handled across disconnected tools. Operators frequently re-enter bills of lading (BOL), the documents that record fuel shipments, by hand, track rack pricing, the wholesale price of fuel at a terminal, in spreadsheets, and calculate fuel taxes outside their main accounting system. Each of these steps introduces the chance of error and creates compliance exposure when tax reporting or pricing is inconsistent.

The module automates several of these tasks. It imports bills of lading directly from DTN, a data and technology provider for the fuel industry, which removes the manual re-keying step, and uploads invoices back to DTN to close the billing loop. It calculates and reports state and federal motor fuel taxes within the ERP, with support for deferred tax built into sales invoices, and applies a consistent pricing hierarchy across transactions, including event-based pricing for pipeline purchase windows. It connects to Transport4, a pipeline logistics system, for visibility into batch movements, and supports operators running multiple terminals or shared infrastructure within one system.

iRely built the module to connect directly to its CTRM platform, so that terminal transactions flow into risk management and financial reports without separate reconciliation. This lets trading desks and terminal operations work from the same data, which matters for companies managing both the physical fuel supply chain and the hedging positions tied to it.

"Pipeline operations are among the most complex workflows in downstream petroleum. Our Terminal Management module gives operators one system, one source of truth, and zero reconciliation headaches, so they can focus on running their business, not fixing their software," said Dylan Gamboa, Senior Vice President, iRely.

iRely said it plans to expand the module through 2026 and 2027 with additional integration options, broader pipeline logistics coverage, automated upload of rack pricing to DTN and improved reporting through DTN's G3 system.
