Corgi Insurance partners with Silicon Valley Bank to offer coverage to startup clients

Corgi Insurance, an insurance platform that serves startups, technology companies and emerging businesses using AI-native underwriting, has announced a partnership with Silicon Valley Bank, a division of First Citizens BancShares, a US financial institution with more than $225 billion in assets that provides commercial banking to technology, life science, healthcare, private equity and venture capital companies. The partnership gives SVB clients access to Corgi's digital insurance products and risk management solutions.

Corgi's platform provides commercial insurance products built around the needs of high-growth businesses, using automation and specialized underwriting to streamline applications and generate pricing tailored to each company. Through the partnership, SVB clients can access coverage across technology, AI, SaaS, fintech and healthcare sectors from a single full-stack carrier.

Nick Christian, Head of National Fintech and Specialty Finance at Silicon Valley Bank, described the rationale behind connecting SVB's client base with insurance access: "Founders today expect financial infrastructure that moves at the speed of their business. Through our partnership with Corgi, we can connect clients with access to modern insurance solutions to optimize a client's ability to manage risk, meet enterprise requirements, and focus on continuing to grow and scale."

Nico Laqua, Founder and CEO of Corgi Insurance, framed the partnership around a tradeoff founders face when scaling: "Founders shouldn't have to choose between moving fast and being properly protected. Silicon Valley Bank has spent decades supporting the world's most ambitious companies, and we're excited to work together to make modern insurance more accessible to the next generation of builders."
