SAP National Security Services, known as SAP NS2, an independent U.S. subsidiary of SAP staffed entirely by U.S. citizens operating on U.S. soil, has received a provisional authorization from the Defense Information and Systems Agency, known as DISA, to deploy SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition and SAP Business Technology Platform, known as SAP BTP, within its secure cloud environment for the U.S.
Department of War, referred to as DOW. The environment is certified at FedRAMP+ Impact Level 5, a security classification covering systems that store, process and transmit data tied to military operations and critical infrastructure.
The authorization positions SAP NS2 to serve DOW organizations that need enterprise resource planning and platform tools capable of hosting Controlled Unclassified Information, Mission Critical Information and unclassified National Security Systems. Cloud service providers that meet FedRAMP+ IL5 requirements are positioned to support DOW agencies as they carry out cloud modernization efforts across their IT infrastructure.
The newly authorized suite includes SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, an enterprise resource planning solution built around a single source of truth, real-time data processing and dynamic planning and analysis tools. It also includes SAP BTP, a platform built to integrate, automate, extend and build business applications and processes across an organization, allowing agencies to create custom experiences that work directly with SAP applications.
SAP NS2 said the authorized environment is intended to help DOW agencies retire legacy systems and migrate historical data onto cloud-based platforms as part of their broader modernization efforts. SAP NS2 focuses on U.S.-based deployment of SAP's enterprise resource planning software for government customers, supporting processes including supply chain, procurement and finance, and serves SAP's defense, intelligence and commercially regulated customer base in the United States.
